Contributing to the Family
Choosing to be a Host is a significant step to becoming part of the JC family! You become a partner with us in helping to facilitate our weekly church experience, and serve alongside others where you get to connect and build community. We have several teams that contribute in different ways, but our collective mission is to host the presence of God and people well, and impart transformational culture to our church family as we serve wholeheartedly.
We have a class we want you to take before you sign up to serve on a Host team. Elements will allow you to get to know us and our culture a little better. Complete this course by attending all 3 classes/weeks consecutively. It runs every month on Sundays at church during the second service – check out the upcoming schedule and sign up!
Our Game Changers team works together to care for, teach and invest in our children, from infants to 5th graders. They are equipping our kids with understanding and experience of the Kingdom!
Our Greeters are posted around the campus to welcome people, help direct them to the right spots to drop off children, and assist people in whatever they may need.
Our Ushers are posted inside the service area to welcome people, help direct them to find seats. They help with passing things out, and taking the offerings in service as well.
The Guest Experience team exists to warmly welcome & personally engage with each new comer that visits on a Sunday. Our goal is to help lower any anxiety that naturally comes with being the new person through our personal touch points & best set up every individual to walk in confidently, walls down, ready to encounter Jesus as they navigate if this is the home and family for them!
The Info & Resource Team exists to inform and assist people in navigating all of the things happening here at JC. Whether sign ups or events they help to answer questions and send people in the right direction. Additionally, they sell resources (books,CD’s,Etc.) that help people further dive in outside of Sunday’s.
Our campus safety team is posted in strategic places around the facilities we use during services to provide watchful eyes and a protective presence. They work together to make sure our campus, people, and children are safe.
Our setup/teardown team puts out and arranges all the components of our mobile church, helping make it feel like “home,” Jesus Culture style—and then they pack it all up at the end of the day.
Our hospitality team hosts our Hosts. They prepare coffee and refreshments in a room we have set aside for our Hosts who are serving that Sunday to meet, and be nourished as they serve.
Our special events team helps orchestrate events that our church does outside of Sunday services like all Host gatherings, Women’s gatherings and Summer of Fun events. They also help set up our Elements class, other Sunday courses and special celebrations at church.
Our team of intercessors prays over our church, leadership, city, and any needs we send to them—catching the Father’s heart and heaven’s perspective and releasing it into those situations, covering and supporting our body through intercession. They gather and pray during second service.
Our prayer team is available after the services to personally minister to people, whatever their need may be—healing, encouragement, breakthrough, freedom, accepting Jesus. We like for anyone newly joining as a Host that is interested in the prayer team, to fill out an application and jump on another team to serve for 3 months in our environment first. At the end of 3 months and after engaging in some basic training, we can begin the process of additionally assimilating you into the prayer team.
Our production team sets up and runs all our audio/visual equipment with excellence, doing the practical things that facilitate an engaging environment for worship, teaching, and encountering God.
