The new worship experience from Kim Walker-Smith

The older brother was angry at the father and the way he celebrated the homecoming of his prodigal son. It confounds our minds and grates against our demands for punishment, which we tend to call “justice”. How could a King step into the mess I made and lay down His life for me? How could a Father envelope me in love when I refuse and reject Him? How could He push past my shame and filth to love me and ask me to come as I am? His wild heart reflects His wild love. It cannot be tamed. It cannot be explained. It cannot be boxed in or earned or confined to a set of rules. The Wild Heart of the Father runs to find us, embrace us, and shower us with love.

Jesus exemplified what love truly looks like, laying down His life for ours. In the face of death, His heart remained soft and trusting, fixing His eyes on His Father. There was no weakness in His surrender to His Father's will. His surrender was the greatest show of strength the earth has ever seen. A heart that is soft and strong, without divide –that's the Wild Heart of Jesus.

"Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: 'Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!'" Job 38:1-5

The Holy Spirit does not owe an explanation. He is God and we are not. We can try to write the rules to contain Him, because we fear what we can't control. But I would rather give my whole heart in blind faith for the taste of freedom than to spend my life constantly trying to tame the wind. The Wild Heart of the Holy Spirit invites us into greater freedom and joy!

Every time I experience breakthrough in my walk with Jesus, I get to live in greater freedom. My heart is wide open and I'm breathing Him in with every ounce of my being. The happiness is unbridled and contagious-I can't help but laugh and smile, even as I sing! My worship of Jesus cannot be stopped and with joy I give my life in wild abandon, trusting my Father completely. And with every leap of faith, I look more like my Father – a Wild Heart that will never give up.

"Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." Luke 18:17

They simply believe. What could be wilder than that? To just trust the Father at His word and show up with a heart wide open and eyes full of wonder…

About
the Album

Wild Heart was recorded live at the Cascade Theater in Redding, California. In her fifth solo album, Kim Walker-Smith returns to the place she recorded Still Believe, Consumed (with Jesus Culture), and got married. Wild Heart explores themes of life, beginning again, and returning to our First Love.

The title song, Wild Heart, expresses the jubilant love of the Father, running to meet the prodigal child. Protector is a powerful anthem and declaration of Who God is and His promise to never leave, nor forsake us. Kim’s personal favorite is You’ll Always Be, which is a sweet melody that rides beneath lyrics that take a strong stance on Who God is in her life.

Wild Heart was recorded in one night, among a full room of people who traveled from New York, Texas, Illinois, Arizona, Washington, Idaho, and other states. This album is a collection of songs and moments that are joyful, raw, honest, and intimate.
