Accounting Clerk

Summary
The Accounting Clerk position exists to support the Director of Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources and the CFO in the day-to-day financial tasks necessary to the function of the organization as a whole. This role also serves the entire Jesus Culture team by assisting with training, answering questions, and providing broad support.

Compensation & Schedule
$25-$28/hour, full-time, with benefits and paid holidays.
Weekly: 32 hours a week, Sunday-Wednesday, in office. This is not a remote position.

Reporting and Function
The Accounting Clerk reports directly to the Director. The role serves the entire Jesus Culture team and helps set and maintain the environment of excellence and integrity desired for Jesus Culture’s operations. The responsibilities below serve the whole organization.

What You'll Do

Perform offering count every Monday with associated journal entries, credit card donation processing, and reconciling physical cash collected against cash deposited to the safe.

Record donation information.

Management of donor profiles.

Perform remote bank deposits from the office.

Daily/weekly tasks such as importing/entering transactions from bank and credit card fees into the accounting system (QuickBooks Online).

Process monthly bank deposits (i.e., depositing physical cash from safe to bank account).

Review and fulfill petty cash and per diem requests.

Run detailed income and expense reports at department request.

Track and manage credit card receipts of staff including following up with relevant staff with outstanding tasks (e.g., providing receipts, account, location, and class information, as required).

Attend and participate in staff meetings.

Perform quarterly inventory count of merchandise and reconcile to the accounting system.

Be present and available for large onsite events (3-5 per year) for cash box resetting and offering counts.

Assist the Director and CFO as needed with financial tasks upon request.

What You'll Bring

Accounting experience of 5+ years or degree equivalent.

High proficiency in MacOS, Word, Excel, Google apps, QuickBooks Online, and Bill.com.
