Video Editor

The Video Editor will be responsible for creating engaging and inspirational video content for our church and movement. This includes editing sermons, promotional videos, event highlights, and social media clips. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a creative mindset, and a passion for storytelling. They will work closely with our Creative Team, pastors, and other team members to produce high quality videos that align with our church’s mission and values. They will contribute to the success of all our campaigns, church projects, events, conferences, music label, and communication by bringing their full self and strength to our team.

The video editor position at Jesus Culture reports directly to the Video Director. This role serves the entire Jesus Culture Sacramento team and helps set and maintain the environment of excellence and integrity desired at Jesus Culture Sacramento.

Compensation is based upon full-time, benefits, and an hourly salary.

What You'll Do

Pre-Production:

  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and develop new video content ideas.
  • Plan and storyboard video projects, ensuring alignment with church messaging and goals.
  • Coordinate and schedule video shoots, including securing locations, organizing equipment, and preparing necessary materials.
  • Conduct interviews and direct talent during video shoots.
  • Ensure all video equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.

Production:

  • Operate video cameras, lighting, and audio equipment during shoots.
  • Capture high quality footage of church services, events, and other activities.
  • Ensure all recordings are of the highest possible quality, both visually and audibly.

Post-Production:

  • Edit video footage for weekly services, including sermons, worship segments, and special announcements.
  • Create promotional videos for upcoming events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Produce highlight reels for church events, outreach activities, and mission trips.
  • Design and edit video content for social media platforms, ensuring it is optimized for each platform.
  • Incorporate graphics, animations, and special effects as needed.
  • Sync audio and ensure clear sound quality throughout all video projects.
  • Manage and organize video files and maintain a digital video archive.
  • Assist with live streaming of services and events as needed.
  • Stay up to date with the latest video editing software, techniques, and trends to continuously improve the quality of content produced.

What You'll Bring

Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, DaVinci Resolve and Frame.io.

Experience with motion graphics and animation is a plus (e.g., Adobe After Effects).

Strong understanding of video production processes, including shooting, editing, sound, and lighting.

Excellent storytelling skills and a creative eye for visual composition.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Good communication skills and the ability to take constructive feedback.

A commitment to the mission and values of Jesus Culture.

Prior experience working in a church or non-profit environment is a plus, but not required.
